PEONIES: Flowers and Specialty Coffee in Paris

dsc06574

OK, so I’m actually working on a post introducing 5 new specialty coffeeshops in Paris, but I thought this one deserved a post of its own. They all do, really. Anyhow! I arrived in Paris late Tuesday night (later than expected because of delays due to snow in Copenhagen), and Wednesday morning I set the alarm early in order to make it to as many coffeeshops as possible before heading over to my friend’s house in the 7th arrondissement (she had a baby a little over a week ago, so I just had to meet little baby Lucie!)

First stop was Peonies. I had come across this gem on Instagram a couple of times, and I fell in love with the concept before I even got there; the concept being flowers + specialty coffee. What’s not to like?

Clementine, the owner, had no experience with either when she first set out to open the shop, so she acquired tons of knowledge about flowers, and took barista-training at Coutume Café (one of the best specialty coffeeshops in Paris). She also gets her coffee beans from there, and the Coutume guys often pop by to check on her (she only just opened the shop three months ago). If you’re not into specialty coffee, you can always enjoy a cup of tea or cake (I didn’t try any of them, but they looked delicious!)

Oh, and also do go to the toilet while you’re there – Pink tiles all over, ladies – just sayin’ 😉
